Tryout Fic #10: Zoidberg's Totodile - Wario vs. ShadowAll over the audience, people talked about the upcoming match. Mario vs. Sonic, a match a large amount of people wanted to see, would probably never happen, so this was as close as it was going to get. Mario and Luigi could be heard cheering for Shadow, while Sonic wanted to see Shadow get his arrogant face creamed by Mario's greedy rival. "This is going to be awesome!" Sonic exclaimed happily. "Finally, someone will show that guy how full of himself he is!" "I'm not so sure about that, Sonic," Knuckles said. "With the power of the Chaos Emerald on his side, Shadow should be able take down someone as chunky and slow as Wario." Knuckles tried to keep his voice down when talking about the Emeralds, especially with people like Bowser, Ganondorf, and Kefka near by. "Whoa, Knux," Sonic said with a surprised tone in his voice. "Don't tell me you're actually siding with that jerk!" "I'm not siding with Shadow," Knuckles answered. "I'm just saying Shadow has a very low chance of losing this battle. Wario just doesn't have the wits to take him down. Now, be quiet, the battle is starting." Sonic mumbled something as he looked over to the arena. Wario and Shadow were facing each other on opposite sides of the arena. Wario could be heard shouting insults and taunts at his opponent, while Shadow stood with his arms crossed and his eyes closed. ---- "You-a think you-a can beat-a me-a?!" Wario laughed. "I won't-a be-a losing to-a an animal like-a you!" Shadow stood silent, ignoring his opponent's loud and annoying remarks. This weakling will pay for stealing my Emerald! thought Shadow. He'll soon learn what happens when you cross paths with the ultimate life-form... Finally, the announcer spoke up. "Ready... FIGHT!" Immediately, Wario started charging towards Shadow. Right at the last second, Shadow opens his eyes and steps out of the way. Wario, unable to stop, crashes right into the arena wall. Dust flew all over the place as a result from the crash, along with a mix of cheers and boos coming from the audience. Shadow smirks as he watches Wario recover from the little accident. "Pitiful," Shadow commented. "Grrrrr, you will-a pay for-a that!" Wario grunted, getting ready to attack again. But, Shadow was now running towards Wario at top speed. All that could be seen of Shadow now was a black, red, and orange blur. Wario, in a fit of anger, started throwing punches all around him. As Shadow reached Wario, he was unlucky enough to be hit by one of these punches. The sheer muscle and power of Wario caused Shadow to go flying straight to the middle of the arena. Taking advantage of this, Wario quickly charges over there, dust blowing behind him. Once he reaches the dark-colored hedgehog, he grabs him by the legs and starts swinging him around. After gaining enough momentum, he throws Shadow straight into the wall. Wario grins as he watches Shadow peel off the wall and fall to the ground, apparently unconscious. "Hehe, I've-a got this one-a in da bag-a now!" Wario pulled out the hammer he bought earlier, and started running towards Shadow. Right as Wario lifted up the giant hammer, Shadow opened his eyes. Quickly, he rolled out of the way, just in time to let the hammer hit the ground. The impact of the hit caused the top of the hammer to fall right off. "BAH! A-cheap piece of-a junk!" "So, you're resorting to using weapons to defeat me?" Shadow questioned as he stood up. "SHUT UP-A!" Wario shouted as he reached into his pockets again. This time, he pulled out a bag of Bomberman(TM) bombs, one of the many things he stole from Tom Nook's shop. ---- "HEY!" Tom Nook cried. "He didn't buy that! THAT THIEF!" Tom Nook jumped up and down in anger. "I knew I couldn't trust him!" "Relax," Mario said from next to him as he watched Shadow run around the arena, dodging Wario's barrage of bombs. "If Shadow doesn't-a take care of-a him, I will-a go make-a sure he returns-a the items." He returned his focus to the battle, where Shadow was now dodging swings from a katana. "GO SHADOW!" "Thanks, Mario!" Tom Nook said happily, knowing he could trust the plumber. ---- "Are you done yet, you poor excuse for a human being?" Shadow asked, becoming mighty pissed off at the greedy fat man's antics. "A-never!" Wario yelled as he gave up on trying to hit Shadow with the katana. Suddenly, he pulled out a ZIG from his pockets. Several people in the audience wondered how he could fit such a thing in there, but, they soon realized logic isn't the best thing to talk about at a time like this. Wario jumped in and closed the cockpit, laughing. "All-a this battle-a are a-belong to me!" Shadow groaned in disgust at the use of CATS Speak. "...uhh... a-how do I run-a this-a thing?" Wario questioned, suddenly realizing he doesn't know a thing about piloting ZIGs. Shadow, seeing that Wario is now helpless, leaps into the air, then uses a Homing Spin right into the cockpit of the ZIG. A huge explosion is the result of Shadow's impact, pieces of the ZIG flying all over the place, along with Wario shooting way across the arena. As Wario hit the far end of the arena, several of his items poured out of his pockets. The fairy in a bottle, the potions, a Starman, his large assortment of weapons (most of which were now ruined), and, most important to Shadow, a green Chaos Emerald. Shadow quickly raced over and grabbed the jewel. He then glanced at the now greatly weakened Wario, lying on the ground with burn marks on his body and clothes. "Hmph, weakling." He then ran over to the other side of the arena to get ready to perform his finishing move. As Shadow had his back turned, Wario started slowly getting up. "I will-a not lose-a to you, a-critter..." Wario muttered as he reached for the safe box Bowser gave him. ---- "Wait, why did Wario have the Chaos Emerald?" Knuckles wondered as he watched Shadow pick up the Emerald. "He must have stole it from Shadow!" Sonic exclaimed angrily. "That's beyond uncool!" At least Wario probably just thought it was some jewel. Knuckles thought as he watched Shadow reach the end of the arena and start running toward Wario. If he discovered it's true power, there would definately be trouble. "Is that... a banana peel?!" Sonic questioned as he watched Wario throw the peel right in Shadow's path. "NO! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO SAVE THAT FOR MARIO YOU DUMB FATSO!" Bowser screamed as he stomped on the ground. "Shadow won't be able stop going at that spee-" Knuckles almost said, but stopped as soon as he saw Shadow dissapear right when he was about to slip, and then re-appear next to Wario. Good, he used Chaos Control. ---- "Huh? A-where did that hedgehog-a go?!" Wario asked to himself. "Right here." Wario looked over to the source of the voice. The last thing he saw before he was knocked unconscious was a curled up Shadow spinning right into him. "AND THE WINNER IS SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG!!!" the announcer shouted all over the stadium. The audience was in an uproar. Lots of people were confused on how Shadow appeared right next to Wario in the blink of an eye. In fact, the only ones who weren't confused were Sonic and Knuckles. Tom Nook jumped into the arena and started collecting all of the stolen items, with Mr. Resetti and Mario helping. Meanwhile, Shadow started walking out of the stadium, thinking. It seems I underestimated my opponent. I didn't know he would be pathetic enough to resort to such dirty, underhanded tactics. No matter. Nothing can stand up to the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Once I collect all of them, I'll be invincible! Next Entry Back |
