Vs. Mode - Lara vs. Zelda"Welcome back to Versus Mode!" Lucca announced. "If you joined us last time, Tommy Vercetti ousted Kite in quite a match" "And now, our match is going to be ten times as exciting!" Brock said excitedly. He grinned. "We got Lara Croft, who's sexy appeal inspires video game characters everywhere. And on the other hand we have Zelda, a beautiful princess who's cute face is nearly irresistable. She's so pretty. I can't decide who I like more! Lara, Zelda, Lara, Zelda, Lara--" "Ahem" Lucca cleared her throat. "Erm, you're nice too, Lucca, but I like you as a friend" "That's NOT what I mean, Brock" Lucca said, trying to hide a blush. "Anyway, Brock, if you can give some REAL analysis, please" "Oh, right" Brock gave an embarassed chuckle. "Lara Croft made it to round three of last year's tournament, ousting Chop Chop Master Onion and Ryo Hazuki. However, with the way Dante absolutely destroyed Ryo, Lara's victories don't seem that impressive. Zelda never fought before in a tournament, but it is said that her power may be something in relation to that of Link. If so, then Lara may not have a chance. Either way, we're going to have two winners, because with them, you can't have losers, ehhhh...." Lucca pulled Brock's face away from the table to keep the drool from dripping onto it. "So there you have it, Brock's...prediction. So, we shall see if Lara can bounce back after being horribly beaten last year by Crono, or if Zelda's first appearance will yield her a win. And first it's Zelda" The Zelda theme that played for Link and Ganondorf echoed throughout the stadium as Zelda emerged. The crowd cheered for her as she walked past Brock and Lucca. "Miss Zelda! Miss Zelda!" Brock called. "A word, please?" "Yes?" Zelda turned around and walked to the commentaro table. "I ask this of all competitors--what's your number?" Brock asked. Lucca pulled Brock away. "Okay, loverboy, that's enough. Please, Zelda, continue what you were doing" Zelda smiled a little and walked to the ring. She took her place. "And here comes her opponent...oh, Lara! Lara! Can I have your--" Lucca pulled Brock away again. "I don't know how Misty keeps this up all the time, Brock, but please, have some control" "Both competitors are in the ring. It's a battle between the weapons of the tomb raider and the magic of the Hylian princess!" Brock announced, now getting back to normal. "The ring is going to be a normal form, no specialty rings for this match, so it seems that they'll be at even chances here" Ref-Bot floated to the middle of the ring. "Are you ready?" "Ready" Lara grinned. Zelda nodded as well. "Three...two...one...go!" Lara began to dash at Zelda, pulling a gun from her waist. "I'll finish this and get back in time for a little drink. One hit knock out!" "And Lara's in the air--NO LARA! Don't do it! Zelda's too pretty to shoot!" Brock called. He noticed Lucca looking annoyed, as she did for most of the match. "Uh...can Lara really win in one shot?" Lara took a shot at Zelda, smirking all the while. Zelda held up one hand, glowing in blue magic, and spun around quickly to create a cylinder around herself. The gunshot was reflected, making a gash in Lara's arm were it scraped her. "And Zelda uses her Naryu's Love attack to reflect Lara's attack!" Lucca said. "Looks like this princess may be tougher than she looks" Zelda then leapt up gracefully and thrust her right foot forward, her heel glowing with electricity as she made contact with Lara's face. Lara was sent flying backwards, sparks visible around her face. The tomb raider bounced across the floor as Zelda landed slowly, her dress allowing her to float down slowly. "And an electrifying kick sends Lara flying!" Gasped Lucca. "Lara seems like she's going to need to do better than that if she intends to win this fight" "Poor Lara..." Added Brock. Zelda began to dash forward towards Lara now, but at low speed due to the fact that with her dress, she couldn't run quickly. Lara moved forward and drvoe a quick kick to Zelda's head, and then proceeded to pull her to the ground and jump back. "And Lara quickly uses physical maneuvers to take down Zelda" Brock announced. "Poor Zelda..." Lara leapt back. "Okay Zelda, you had your choice..." Lara pointed her gun and took a shot. Zelda rolled out of the way on the ground and kneeled, beginning and thrust her foot forwards. The attacks hit Lara several times in a row before she was able to escape. "And quick low kicks allow a fast combo for Zelda to take control" Lucca stated. "And Zelda's got to her feet again...what's she doing?" Zelda twisted her hands and put them into a shape and created a fire ball. Lara was just getting her balance again as Zelda launched it. "YAH!" "Ooh, and a fireball just exploded in Lara's face!" Brock announced. "That had to hurt. Zelda sure has some good techniques..." Zelda smiled a little and knew that Lara wasn't going to put up a good enough fight. She knew just the attack to win. Zelda moved back and little and put her hands back, charging magic energy. Lara was coming at her again. Zelda held out her hands and shot the blast, but Lara quickly used a roll underneath to dodge. Zelda gasped. "And Lara Croft does an amazing roll to dodge that magical attack!" Brock said. "If she keeps this up, the match may be hers" Lara rose to her feet and quickly leapt up as she did, hitting Zelda with a kick. Lara took out two guns this time,and pointed them at Zelda. "All right, Zelda, game over!" With that, she began to shoot rapidly from both guns. Barrages of bullets smashed to the ground where Zelda was, creating a cloud of smoke. "My goodness! Zelda is caught in a firing practice!" Lucca announced. "Could this be it for the princess?" "No! Zelda! Don't die..." Brock said, Anime-style tears falling down his face. Lara's shots stopped as she realized both bullets were out of guns. She just smirked though, as she knew that Zelda wasn't getting up. The smoke cleared, and...Zelda was gone. "OH NO!" Gasped Brock. "Zelda's gone! Did those shots actually disintegrate her?! No!" "I...suppose it's possible..." Lucca was in shock. "After all, we don't know what kind of upgrades that Lara might have gotten to her equipment in this time..." "Lucca, look!" Brock pointed into the air above the stadium. Above the stadium was a woman in tight blue clothing, with white patches. She was about the same height as Zelda, and her face was hidden by a turban, as was most of her hair. She landed on her feet, across from Lara. "It seems that...in place of Zelda appeared another woman..." Lucca had never seen anything like this, and her way of speaking expressed that. "Is that...is that the legendary Sheikan warrior?" Asked Brock. "Could be..." Added Lucca. Next to the commentary table stepped the two familiar faces of Link and Ganondorf. Link nodded. "Yes, that is she...Shiek" Lara took a step back. ~Crap...~ She thought. ~I used all my bullets before, I thought she would be finished by now! No matter, I can take her out without them...~ Lara began to move towards Shiek. However, like a blur, Shiek moved forward and sliced her hand backwards, knocking Lara with harsh intensity into the air. Lara gasped as she was sent skyward. Shiek followed this up, quickly jumping into the air and thrusting both legs upwards with a kick to the back. By the time Shiek landed, Lara was falling straight on her behind. Shiek took two steps back and came forward with two quick kicks across Lara's midsection. Lara just seemed to hit the ground before Shiek continued with several harsh jabs, moving her hands like a blur. "My goodness!" Lucca said. "Zelda--er, Shiek--er, whoever she is now, is beating Lara badly! Things aren't looking good for her" Panting, Lara threw a forward punch, which was caught by Shiek. Shiek let go of Lara and slammed her with a shoulder to knock her forward. Shiek then pulled a chain, and swung it several times to hit Lara hard. Bruises were now starting to become visible on Lara's skin with each hit. Lara was getting away, just barely. "No...you're not Zelda...time to see who's under the mask!" Lara threw her gun at Shiek. Shiek simply swatted it away, but this distraction allowed Lara a shot to grab Shiek's mask and pull it away from the lower part of her face. As it was torn, it showed a face just like Zelda's, only there was just something about Shiek's face, that seemed to make her look even prettier than Zelda. "And underneath the mask...seems to be Zelda but...she's so beautiful..." Brock said, blushing. "Wow, I'd like to meet her..." Lucca hit Brock in the head with a paper fan, not too bothered by his 'Ow'. "Well, it seems that Shiek IS indeed Zelda, but one can only wonder..." Lara realized that Shiek was now angry by the look in her eyes. But that wasn't going to stop her. Lara took a rope and threw it to the other side of the ring, tieing it to a pole outside of it. She swung forward, but was caught by Shiek before she could execute any moves. Shiek threw Lara across the ring, with seemingly minimal effort. Shiek took a jump back and threw several Needles at Lara. Lara screamed as the attacks struck her in the back, as she turned away. "And Shiek throws a harsh storm of needles at Lara. Hey, storm, needle, they should call it a Needle Storm" Lucca chuckled at her own joke. "It IS called Needle Storm" Ganondorf told her. Lucca gave a sigh. Lara was just getting up as she saw Shiek. Shiek held her hands into the air, and a mystical sound was heard from her. In her place was Zelda. Lara smiled. "I guess you were strong...you take down your next opponent..." With that, she hit the floor on her stomach. "Lara Croft is incapacitated. The winner: Zelda" Zelda smiled before giving a long sigh. She had become exhausted from the fight. Link and Ganondorf stepped into the ring with her. Link gave the princess a hug and gathered her into his arms. Ganondorf just smirked a little. Ganondorf took the microphone from Ref-Bot and held it for Link, who had Zelda in his arms. Link began to speak. "See that? That's the true power of the Tri-Force. Zelda, Ganondorf and myself could beat any trio who entered here, and we will. Expect to see us in round three" However, another group of three then walked out. Cloud Strife, Aeris Gainsborough and Sephiroth were making their way down to the ring. Cloud pointed a finger at Link. "Link...I'll make you eat your words. Win three more matches, and I will do the same. And then, you will be tested" Sephiroth joined in. "Ganondorf, you think you stand a chance? I doubt you'll even get by Magus, let alone me, you insignificant pest" Aeris just gave Zelda a rather disrespectful look. Link growled. "All right, you damn baby-eater, why don't you go finish making a meal out of Ness and then we'll talk" "You just watch it, Link" With that, Cloud lead his group away. "Arrogant bastard" Ganondorf growled. "He'll know the powers of the Tri-Force soon enough. He's dead meat" As Team Zelda departed, Lucca reannounced. "Well, there you have it, it seems that Link and Cloud's teams are having arguments with each other. What will result out of thus?" She looked to the right. "Brock? What's wrong?" Brock sniffled a little. "I didn't get either of their numbers" Lucca patted Brock on the back. "There there, Brock. Well, we'll be back with the exciting conclusion of round one, as MegaMan, veteran from last year, takes on Mr. Resetti, a mole with an attitude making his first appearance.
